DVD & BLURAY

Despite appearing in a low number of films during her career, Luise’s films remained difficult to obtain on home video and DVD for many years. Only her two Oscar winning performances have been readily available, and in the UK only The Great Ziegfeld has been widely released on DVD. In 2010 Warner Archive finally released a three-disc set of The Emperor’s Candlesticks, The Toy Wife and Big City, (the first time any of these three films had been available on DVD or home video) Her first and last MGM films, Escapade and Dramatic School, and her only film for Paramount, Hostages, still remain unreleased commercially (although bootleg copies do surface from time to time). In 2020 her first film, Sehnsucht 202, was released on DVD for the first time by FilmArchiv Austria. None of Luise’s work is currently available on Blu-ray.
